Yay! 2CV! :D
What’s that cool old red van in your first few shots?

The red plates 06 are usually used for test drives and such because they are not assigned to a specific car and can be used on several cars.
The Lancer was immaculate! Not sure if the 205 was a CTi or not.

The red ones are basically dealer plates used to transfer cars that aren’t registered. They aren’t assigned to a specific car, but to a company or shop which has to keep track of which car they went on, who drove it and so on.

Surprisinlgy the only 2CV there. That is a Ford FK1000 which served at a fire department.

Cool! Never heard of one...reminded me of FIAT’s old vans at first:

Many cars of interest here.
That W126... it has the wing attachment for a flag/pennant which would indicate former diplomatic/official/military duties. It doesn’t seem to have bulletproof glass. Also it’s got the bigger US front bumper - but European-specification headlights (unless the US cars started using them towards the end of their production run?) It’s also been lowered, I think.
The Passat with the surf board on top... could it be a 4WD version?

Can’t deny the similarities. Ford UK and Ford on the mainland both had their own transporters before the Transit was introduced. The FK was produced in Cologne, Germany.

It was a diplomat’s car, I don’t know from what country though. The US spec bunpers on this car actually look quite nice. The headlights had yellow inlets just like the USDM headlights.
The Passat didn’t have a Synchro badge so I’m not sure.

It’s says a lot about me that the vehicles I want the most out of this lot, are the 944 and the Squarebody Chevy truck.

I can’t imagine driving that big old pink yank tank over there. I’ve driven one here in the states and they take up most of the road.

Not just any 2CV, it’s a Sausss-Ente, it was a German special edition, there were reportedly 400 made, mechanically a normal 2cv6. Advertised with “0-100km/h in 59,4 seconds” which I find hilarious
Automakers lost their humour

It’s definitely no fun driving that thing here.

Nothing wrong with that. The Chevy sounded badass.

Great looking 8. Too bad the owner left before I could ask if it was a genuine Gordini or not. Thanks!

Checked about B2 Syncro Passats and they were only ever available with the Variant bodyshell. Strangely its ride height seems not to be stock, and the black spats at the rear look suspiciously similar to the ones fitted to the Syncro Variant.

Now that you mention it I should have given the Passat a second look. It appeared mostly stock to me. (Haven’t seen a Passat of that generation in ages though)

The 205 is a Roland Garros convertible. The Roland Garros edition had many luxury items (from a 205 or general 1990-ish subcompact perspective) but certainly not the CTi engine. They had the top engine below GTi/CTi engines if I’m not mistaken, so it won’t be slow (for the era) but not overly fast either. Probably the 1.4 TU engine that was offered in many PSA cars from the mid 80s until merely a few years ago. I also doubt they had the more sporty suspension.
If you like them here’s one (a real CTi) that’s impossibly cheap. It’s in the Netherlands, but getting German plates on that shouldn’t be a problem.

I wasn’t sure if the 1.6 was offered or not. Apparently not. But the car was in great shape nonetheless.
